Orion offers the highest level of both craftsmanship and communication to residential building and remodeling clients in the Philadelphia region. Our background in art, architecture and construction gives us a unique appreciation for many of the unique details that make older homes seem so comfortable and interesting.

Leadership

Rob joined Orion in 2002 as a lead carpenter and quickly rose through the ranks to site superintendent. In 2006 he moved into the office to oversee all of the accounting, while still keeping a foothold in the field as a project manager and estimator.

Rob keeps our process tight. He developed our questionnaires to new clients which helps us understand their lifestyles as well as allergies, kids, places to park and answers important questions about the spaces in which we work.

Rob also monitors each part of our process keeping the communication always flowing by updates to keep clients apprised of deadlines, meetings to discuss new building phases, and acting as a resource for products.

Prior to Orion, Rob spent several years in Jackson, Wyoming, building large, timber-framed homes in the shadows of Grand Teton National Park. While there, he picked up snowboarding and fly fishing (hobbies he continues to enjoy today) and played rugby for the Jackson Hole Moose. Rob graduated from East Stroudsburg University in 1997 with a degree in Physics and Secondary Education and has studied for a master’s in Civil Engineering. Rob brings a keen engineering mind and an unparalleled eye for detail to our team.

Pete Maruca

A native of Princeton, New Jersey, Pete graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a degree in Art and Architectural History. Rather than pursuing an academic career, he opted for hands-on experience in carpentry, working for 10 years with some of the premier residential builders, remodelers and architects in Boston, San Francisco and Philadelphia.

Pete’s passion focuses not only on the craft of remodeling but on the experience and care he devotes to his clients. They appreciate his background and love of art and architecture. They also know that they can count on the high level of excellence of his staff and subs who care as much as he does about a job done well. The entire company brings a consistent positive attitude with a strong dash of humor that creates long lasting friendships. His clients appreciate Orion’s dependability, honest work done at a fair price and the attitude of always going the extra mile. Pete has developed a process of regular ongoing communication that leaves nothing to surprise. His attention to detail has helped make both he and Orion nationally recognized leaders in their field.

Pete currently sits on the boards of the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House and the William Trent House in Trenton, New Jersey (c. 1719), a house museum that his maternal grandfather restored under a WPA grant in the 1930s. He is active with the alumni associations of both Princeton University and the Lawrenceville School, having served on committee boards for both institutions. Through Orion, he is a member of the National Association of Home Builders, the Pennsylvania Builder’s Association, the Main Line Builder’s Association and both the Montgomery/Bucks County HBA and the Chester/Delaware County HBA. His college band, The Usual Suspects, recently reunited after a 25-year hiatus to play a triple bill with Jon Bon Jovi and Joan Jett.
